I see the doubt, there in your eyes There’s not a word I can say, to change your mind To change your mind You don’t believe, you don’t believe You don’t believe but you can’t bring yourself to leave It wasn’t meant to be this grey Each heavy step you take won’t change the weight When You don’t believe, you don’t believe You don’t believe but you can’t bring yourself to leave You don’t believe, you don’t believe You don’t believe but you can’t bring yourself to leave

On Your Own 03:34
On Your Own © 2011 Treva Blomquist You were an island I stumbled upon You were a fortress I tried to disarm But you’re better on your own You sing a sad song nobody knows You say you’re sorry but it doesn’t show You’re better on your own On your own, without me pulling you down On your own, without me hanging around I was a vessel in need of a guide You came along for the ride But I was better on my own Now I have no more tears inside and no more fear to hide I'm better on my own On my own, without you pulling me down On my own, without you hanging around I wash my hands, of any guilt Because you will live, in the house you built Go on, do what you should do I wish you well, I’ll pray for you Out there on your own

So Wrong for You-- © 2011 Treva Blomquist & Jeff Pardo I am a broken bone, that’s never gonna heal right I am a war you’re losing, I’m an old blunt knife I am a secret you can’t hide I am a rainy day and a lonely night I am the one thing (baby) that you don’t need in your life But you keep knock knock knockin upon my door (You keep) beg beg beggin for just a little more I tried and tried, don’t know what else I can do (Baby) I’m so wrong, so wrong for you I’m an avalanche, coming straight for your house A guaranteed heartbreak, a lost cause you shouldn’t have found I am the habit you just can’t shake I am the bad blood pumping through your veins I am the bottle you should pour down the drain But you keep knock knock knockin upon my door (You keep) beg beg beggin for just a little more I tried and tried, don’t know what else I can do (Baby) I’m so wrong, so wrong for you You can’t wrap me up You can’t lock me down You can’t hold me for long You can’t figure me out I’m a smooth talking devil in an angel’s clothes If you want what’s good you should let me go – oh I am a dream living inside your head You can’t make it real baby – no you can’t So stop knock knock knockin upon my door (You keep) beg beg beggin for just a little more I tried and tried, don’t know what else I can do I got a wall so thick you’ll never break through Tell me why’s it hard honey to see just see truth (Baby) I’m so wrong, so wrong for you

Slow It Down 03:31
Slow it Down © 2011 Treva Blomquist This world is spinning so fast, I’m doing my best just to hold on Moving from one thing to the next, and the next, and I can’t keep up any more Put down the phone, put on my coat I’ll lose my mind if I don’t go So I’m slowing down I’m taking a break Getting it right before it gets too late I’m slowing down, taking my time I’m slowing down before I lose my mind I’m slowing down, down, I’m slowing down, down Boy we got something real good, and I’m doing my best just to hold on To you, so let’s not jump the gun, cause like that, it’ll all be done and gone Put on a record and watch it spin Hold me in your tender arms again Let’s slow it down, let’s take our time Let’s get it right before it all unwinds Let’s slow it down, let’s take our time Slow it down, sweet love of mine Let’s slow it down, down, slow it down, down There’s no sense in moving fast Let’s make a love that’s gonna last By slowing it down, taking our time Getting it right before it all unwinds Let’s slow it down, Take your time Slow it down, sweet love of mine Let’s slow it down, down, slow it down This world is spinning so fast, slow down

Chasing after You © 2011 Carolyn Miller & Treva Blomquist Can’t always tell from the outside, But there’s a mess inside of me Rising from the worth I’ve placed - On all these fading things I’ve been looking for comfort - Instead of searching for truth Walking in my own desires, Instead of chasing after You -- Chasing after You I call out for grace one moment - And question you the next I say I need you and let me be - All in the same breath Tried to turn myself around a hundred times - on my own But I’m broken, bleeding, crying, dying - helpless and alone without You – alone without You You say to lose my life is better And I’m free when I surrender to You -- I surrender to You

POOR WAYFARING STRANGER TRADITIONAL 1. I am a poor wayfaring stranger Traveling through this world of woe But there's no sickness, toil, or danger In that bright land to which I go. (Refrain): I'm going there to meet my Savior Dwell with him and never roam. I'm only going over Jordan. I'm only going over home. 2. I know dark clouds will gather 'round me I know my way will be rough and steep But beautiful fields lie just before me Where God's redeemed their vigil keep (Refrain) 3. I'll soon be free of earthly trials My body rest in the old church yard I'll drop this cross of self-denial And I'll go singing home to God (Refrain)
7.
I Write the Book Patty Griffin I’m over here, and it’s cold I’m writing recipes for growing old Growing old, old mean and alone O baby, pick up the phone There’s a pain in my heart It’s been with me through the ages And I’m walking around in a very old frame It goes everywhere I go it’s been everywhere I been There’s something shining in my pocket It’s the key to my heart why don’t you unlock it? I write the book on loneliness I write the poem on pain I’m the obituary in newspapers Lying out in the pouring rain Things used to be good between us I don’t know how to explain We used to be Adonis And Venus - Now we got water flowing down the drain Don’t wanna be bad, don’t wanna lie - Don’t wanna make you mad and I don’t wanna die Knowing we’re apart for the rest of our life – Cause you through me like a knife I been eating your crop like a big old locust but now I wanna be a little more in focus CHORUS

LIVE A LITTLE © 2011 Carolyn Miller & Treva Blomquist Stretched thin, worked to the bone There’s no more smile in your hello Once in awhile it’s good for the soul, to let go Live a little, Live a little Sleep in or stay up late Why not go out on that blind date The laundry can wait for one more day, it’s okay To Live a little, Live a little Take on the town in your favorite red dress And for desert, just be sure to say yes Roll all the windows down, Let every worry out Chase after the rainbow, not the clouds - you’re allowed Live a Little, Live a Little Cast off the glances that make you think twice Go with your gut, take a chance and roll the dice Laugh with your whole heart, no matter how loud Break out the good wine - no better time than now Live a Little, Live a little

I Don’t Even Know You © 2011 Treva Blomquist & Ben Gortmaker Now I don’t even know you, but here I am pen in hand Writing you a song to - pass the time ease my mind You are beautiful, and your body looks good too I put your first name with my last name That’s a thing I should not do I haven’t got the guts to tell you what I should Cause if I spoke my mind things might not end too good Goodness girl you got me in your hand I melt like sand Falling down to your feet, now’s the time to ease my mind You are beautiful; this is something we’ve been through Your first name fits my last name Guess I’m meant to be with you I haven’t got the guts to tell you what I should Cause if I spoke my mind things might not end too good Bridge You are beautiful; this is something we’ve been through Your first name fits my last name Guess I’m meant to be with you - but I don’t even know you

Change 03:10
Change Starts with You © 2011 – Treva Blomquist You can pray to every diety You can talk until you’re blue You can read about it, think about it, wish about it too You can shut yourself inside your house Or get outta town for good Eventually the only thing you’ve got is what you coulda woulda shoulda The change starts with you The change starts with you You can’t outrun the truth, change starts with you You can blame it on the weather Blame it on your friends Blame it on your circumstance, but never on your own two hands It’s a never ending circle You ain’t gonna win And nobody wants to help you now ‘cause you make yourself the victim The truth will set you free If you could only see How the truth will set you free Drop the excuses you that you carry

Promise Me 03:42
Promise Me © 2011 Jonn Hamlin & Treva Blomquist Roses on the night stand Remind me how our love began Loving you came easy We laughed through the night, lost track of time With the moon in the sky, and stars in our eyes Promise me, you’ll never promise me A promise you can’t keep Say we’ll be together Say you’ll stay forever and I will believe If you, promise me It was just another morning Started like the one before You came without a warning I could never ask for more I love the way you say I’m your girl (Just) Say the word and I’ll give you my world Promise me, you’ll never promise me A promise you can’t keep Say we’ll be together Say you’ll stay forever and I will believe If you, promise me We kissed in the rain, carved out our names, And now they’re the same Promise me, you’ll never promise me A promise you can’t keep Say we’ll be together Say you’ll stay forever and I will believe If you, promise me

Nobody’s Fault © 2011 Treva Blomquist / Jeff Pardo I catch myself thinking about you again The words that you whispered, the touch of your hand on my skin But I know the sun only sets, a sad shade of blue For people like me and you It’s nobody’s fault, it’s hard, but it’s time Time to let go, time for goodbye Stillness surrounds us, the band plays one last, slow song We danced just like lovers, who have all the time in the world But I know the night has to end, the lights will come on And that flicker of hope will be gone It’s nobody’s fault, it’s hard, but it’s time Time to let go, time for goodbye You can hold on, only so long Fighting to stay where you don’t belong It’s nobody’s fault, it’s hard, but it’s time Time to let go, time for goodbye What’s done is done, we tried and we tried It’s nobody’s fault, time for goodbye It’s nobody’s fault, time for goodbye

about

Thoughts and Thanks:
The making of this album has been a very special time for me. A week before I went into the studio I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I’ve often joked about not having any children because my CDs are my babies. But this year, I was extra productive. I created my third musical ‘baby’ and my first child, Zach. My life could not be sweeter, and I thank God for all of it.

I’d like to thank my husband, Josh, for his unwavering support and encouragement. Thank you for believing in me, I love you. Thank you to all my co-writers (Ben, Carolyn, Jeff and John) for putting a piece of yourself into these songs. To all the musicians, thank you for adding your color to the canvas. It was a pleasure working with each of you. Special thanks to my Suits, I love each of you, thanks for your friendship. To Erick J, thanks for putting together an amazing group and thanks for your patience with me. It’s finished! Cliff Foster, thank you for giving us free reign of your garage and space heater for a few days. Mike, thank you for transforming Cliff’s garage into a vocal studio and for freezing your fingers off with me while we recorded vocals. Brrr. Thank you Eric, Don & Chaco for an excellent mastering job, x2. Thank you Lance & Melissa, for your amazing photos and your friendship. Thank you Rachel Pearl and Drew Burchfield for the countless nights I’ve spent in your guest rooms & refrigerators, y’all are true friends. Last but not least, thank YOU, yes, Y-O-U, for supporting my music.
